These badges, issued in the 1990s through the Regimental Store, begin with a late-pattern Imperial Crown design and then replacement with a new St Edward's crown pattern. It also presents a return to the diamond cut star which was discontinued in the 1970s. The backplate is deeply incised to make the very distinct radial and concentric lines of a proper diamond cut star, and they have a high degree of convexity in profile. Slider and screw-post veriations were produced.
Some examples of this badge design with the frontpiece attached by two short lugs suffered from detachment issues.
